CSUMC ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL RECOMMENDATION

The CSUMC Administrative Council feels that the absence of a “Trust Clause” is of critical importance. We feel that our congregation should retain sole ownership and control of the physical assets of the church.

A second critical factor in our consideration is the amount of funds we are required to pay to the denomination – our apportionments.

In light of those two critical factors, the Administrative Council narrowed the choices to two, the Global Methodist Church and the Congregational Methodist Church.

After prayerful discussion of these two alternatives, the Administrative Council has chosen to recommend to the congregation that we affiliate with the Global Methodist Church.

The GMC will have the best opportunity for shared ministry with other churches, continues traditional Methodist polity while trimming away things which are not beneficial to ministry in the local church. These are people and structures that we know.
